Leaning into Learning
The COVID-19 pandemic is unique in its magnitude. Its impact is felt in a variety of ways. It’s a public health crisis, it’s a test of our human nature as social creatures, it’s a looming economic recession. As we continue to navigate this crisis with our nonprofit partners and members, we’re also innovating, pivoting and activating our strongest assets: data insights, leadership and lived experience.
COVID-19 doesn’t stop our equity work; it shines a spotlight on historic inequities that must be addressed and new opportunities that must be created. In our response we believe equity is the heart of our opportunity.
Our data ecosystem work is designed to help us build a better understanding of the state of the sector in the immediate crisis of COVID-19 and the ongoing impacts as our community responds.
Pulse Survey 2 - May 8
Early on, it became clear that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, information concerning the nonprofit sector was rapidly changing. A need for a second iteration of our Pulse Survey became a necessity.
Leaning on our mission, this second Pulse Survey closed on May 8 and it is intended to help funders and stakeholders understand where historical inequities may show up as a result from this crisis.
Pulse Survey 1 - March 31
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit Central Texas, it became clear that nonprofits would be facing significant challenges. Mission Capital collaborated with 12 local funders, businesses, government entities and community partners in a survey so they can best respond to nonprofits’ needs.
This survey, intended for nonprofit leaders (e.g. Executive Director/CEO, board chair), closed on Tuesday, March 31, and offers an initial snapshot of the dire situation most Central Texas nonprofits were facing.
